About Us
Our objective is to provide an effective and affordable mediation service.

Mediators come from a varity of backgrounds and will have undertaken training in mediation practise.Currently there is a UK College for family mediators which sets standards of training and there is a system of recognition to practice accepted by the Legal Services Commission. The Law Society also approves various mediation training programs. Mediation is now actively encouraged by the Courts either prior to commencement of proceedings (in most commercial disputes) or else before or during proceedings (in family proceedings).
We are based in Ivybridge with parking available and good access via the A38 and the local bus network.

The cost of mediation
Public funding is available for family cases, subject to fiancial qualification. Please contact us for details. You can check whether you may qualify by using the eligibility calculator from our Links page. In cases where public funding is not available fees vary depending upon the nature of the dispute and the complexity. All clients are provided with details of fees prior to the commencement of any case. It is not always possible to provide a fixed quotation as typically the total cost will vary with the time taken to deal with a case, but in any event an estimate will be given. Costs are almost certainly less than would be incurred in legal proceedings. Further details on fees will be provided on application.
Confidentiality
Mediation is a fully private and confidential process. Communications between the mediator and the client or clients are not made public nor disclosed to any third party except in accordance with certain safety obligations or money laundering regulations, if relevant. In family cases especially no communication will be made to any party folllowing an initial enquiry without prior consent. A full explanation of confidentiality and communications with other experts and advisers will be given at the commencement of any mediation.
